بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of His creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Word.
We start off with praising and glorifying The Eternal Whom all creatures need (As-Samad) and The One (Al Ahad). We do everything for Him only and for His sake.
“The month of Ramadān [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’ān, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.”
— Surah al-Baqarah: 185
The month of Ramadān is the month of the Qur’ān. What is the Qur’ān? The Qur’ān is the guidance for mankind. Allāh (swt) has not left man alone in this universe without a purpose, rather He (swt) has sent him guidance to follow. This guidance, because it emanates from the Creator, is perfect and comprehensive.
In fact, when man studies the Qur’ān, he finds that Allāh (swt) has left a blueprint for life. He finds that within the Qur’ān there are solutions to any problem man faces. This is because the Qur’ān is the definite source of guidance and truth for mankind.
The Qur’ān deals with the greatest question of man’s existence: Why am I here? It clarifies that our purpose in life is to worship and obey Allāh (swt), and whoever does so will be rewarded, and whoever does not will be punished. This question, after being answered in a way that pacifies the emotions and the intellect, allows man to have a tranquil life, as he knows his purpose and where he is going.
The Qur’ān, after establishing this strong foundation, gives the means to fulfill his purpose and establish a relationship with Allāh (swt), a relationship with ourselves (diet, morals etc) and a relationship with others (trade, marriage, punishments, ruling, politics, war etc). So the Qur’ān addresses man comprehensively without leaving him blind.
The one who accepts and follows the guidance will be saved, and the one who rejects and rebels will be in loss.
We ask Allāh (swt) to grant us steadfastness upon the path of Islām and to allow us to obey and worship Him to the best of our ability. And with Allāh (swt) is success.
